Two Longtime Employees Retire in February, 2004

Dora Brown - 25 Years
Dora started with JWR in 1979 at the Central Mining Office as a Temporary Clerk Typist in the Purchasing Department.  Through the years, she worked in several Engineering Departments including Strata Control, Ventilation and Environmental.  In 1994 Dora was promoted to Secretary for the entire Accounting Department.

Ray Colburn - 29 Years
Ray "Lightbulb" Colburn began his JWR career in 1975 at No. 3 Mine as a UMWA employee.  Three years later he became a Training Instructor and in 1979 moved to the Training Center in Brookwood as a Maintenance Training Instructor.  In 1998 Ray moved to No. 7 Mine as a Master Electrician.
