Kim Byram, daughter of Dale Byram - Director of Safety, Health and Loss Prevention for Walter Energy sang "Healing Is In Your Hands."
Kim also sang at the Miners' Mounment dedication in Brookwood, Alabama on September 23, 2002.

Thomas F. Wilson, UMWA International Representative, conducted the candle lighting and cap lamp ceremony.
Thirteen miners lined up on stage and turned their cap lamp off as a bell was rung for each of the men who lost their lives on September 23, 2001,
Thirty-three white doves were released during the ceremonies, one for each of the men who lost their lives since September 23, 2001.
Daryl Dewberry, UMWA International Vice President - District 20 presented a plaque to Siran Stacy.
