FIRST PLACE
TIM BURAGE
Central Mining Office

Tim took this action photo during the water problem at No. 5 Mine last summer.  He was operating his camera in the manual mode and was in the right place at the right time.  Tim is Senior Electrical Engineer and started his JWR career in 1976.

SECOND PLACE
TONY KEY
Central Supply

Tony used his Nikon D-70 to capture this scene on the Thisldu Farm in Boligee, Alabama.  "As the sun was setting, the lighting kept changing and new shots kept developing in the surrounding scenery," says Tony.  He has been with JWR since 1984 and is the Warranty Coordinator & Motor Program Supervisor at Central Supply.

THIRD PLACE
TIM TINGLE
No. 7 Mine

Tim shot this photo in Tinglewood Park in Montevallo where about 40 of his tree carvings are featured.  The puppy in the mouth of the tree is "Oreo" and was about four months old in this photo.  "He is part basset hound and part elephant," jokes Tim.  Tim is an outside welder at No. 7 Mine and has been with JWR for almost 27 years.  His son, Joseph, has been working at No. 4 Mine for over a year.

HONORABLE MENTION
GINA KELLY

Training Center

Gina was shooting photos of her nephews, Jack, 3 and Reed, 8,  when someone became a little unhappy.  "I was taking photos for my brother's Christmas cards when Jack fell and got his pants dirty," says Gina.  "I was shooting the photos near my father's lake and was using a Nikon D-70 with a zoom lens."  Gina is a Graphics Technician and has been working at the Training Center since 1980.
This year there were 129 entries in JWR's 17th Annual Employee Photo Contest.  The winner's framed photos are on display at the Training Center.
