Sgt. Tom Fields Sends Greetings From
Iraq ![]() This photo was taken on November 3, 2006 at Camp Liberty Pax Terminal in Baghdad, Iraq and the flag in the photo was carried aloft during a combat mission in a Blackhawk helicopter. No. 7 Mine Employee Tom Fields (second from left) sent this photo with a certificate explaining where the flag traveled. Tom wants all JWR employees to know the flag is in honor of his co-workers and friends at JWR. Tom's wife Paula, brought the photo, certificate and the actual flag to JWR's PR Department for the presentation. Shelby Cowley in the CMO's Personnel Department saw Tom's address in WORKINGS and wrote to him. "I was elated to hear back from him," Shelby says. "I didn't expect him to answer my letter. It touched my heart and I encourage other employees to send him a letter or Christmas card." A portion of Tom's letter to Shelby reads: "Letters from home connect us with our loved ones, family and friends, and if only for a few moments, as we read the words and laugh or cry, we are home. So again, thank you for bringing me home." Click here to read the complete letter and see photos of the flag, certificate and Tom's mailing address in Iraq. |
