Two No. 4 Mine employees came out winners in recent
runoff elections in local city elections. Mike Johnson
now holds the top position in the
City of Fairfield. He defeated his opponent for the mayor's
office with 62% of the vote. Mike has worked for JWR for the
past 28 years. He is the Industrial Relations Supervisor at
No. 4 Mine. Mike has a BS degree from Alabama State University
and served eight years on the Fairfield City Council. Mike and
his wife, Paulette have four children.

Mine Safety Coordinator Ken Russell
got 68% of the vote in his runoff bid for Sumiton City Council
Place 2. Ken is a Walker County native and a Navy
Veteran. He has a BS degree from Birmingham Southern
College and has been employed by JWR for 26 years. He is
also a long-time Mine Rescue team member. Ken and his
wife, Eunice, have three children. |
