Winter Weather Camping Equipment

Upper body protection- should be layers of shirts, sweaters and a vest.  Wool is warm and several layers of medium weight clothing provide more insulation and flexibility.

Outer garment should be made of windproof, water-repellent fabric to keep cold air outside.  Try to get socks with wicking made of polypropylene or similar material.  Long underwear made from a wicking type material and your pants should be made of wool too.

Gloves or mittens
Tubular scarf should be 5 or 6 foot long
Open-cell foam sleeping pad 3/8 to ½ inches in thickness
Sleeping bags with removable liner (non-zipper model)
Foot powder
